John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched a lot of people with his songs. A lot of them were inspired by Colorado. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, he was in affection with Colorado and later relocated to Aspen. Many people beat a path through Colorado following the Denver's cult anthems to his adopted state. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame says that John Denver is unlike any other musician who represents Colorado. In the year 2011, Denver was chosen as the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. To many, Denver is the symbol of Colorado. You meet people in different countries, such as New Zealanders, and they say "I come originally from Colorado" And they respond with "Oh John Denver. Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads written by co-writer Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo performer after a brief period in small folk ensembles. Danoff had written the song inspired by Johnny Cash, but Denver was able to hear an early version and knew the song would be an instant hit in the top 10. The song was recorded just a few weeks after that Washington D.C. performance.
